Tobacco Cessation

This benefit provides enrollment in the State Health Plan’s tobacco cessation program at no cost for State Health Plan primary members ages 18 and older. It also includes a $0 copay for tobacco cessation drugs to eligible participants. These drugs are available through the State Health Plan’s prescription drug coverage at no cost at a network pharmacy. For eligible members, the program also provides free nicotine replacement therapy. This might include patches, gum or lozenges, if appropriate. 

After taking a one-minute assessment to understand the participant’s tobacco use and engagement preferences, members will be matched with one of the available tobacco cessation vendors. This personalized approach ensures members participate in a program that best meets their needs. Programs include, but are not limited to, tobacco cessation coaching, interactive live online sessions, community support, an on-demand educational library, games and mindfulness apps.
